I got up this morning at 1am and headed out to install a radiology reading station at one of the radiologist houses. He has a garage that he walks to that has all this in it.
This is a lot of clocks and fans!

The man is probably extremely vain (vane?) but very honest & has the collection so he can say, "I have a lot of fans."

MY Grandmother had an old fan that had a plastic, possibly Bakelite, body, but the really fascinating part to me as a kid is that instead of metal or plastic blades, it had loops of cloth that formed the blades due to centrifugal force. Since the blades were cloth, it didn't have any shield over the blades. All of the kids who saw it had a great time sticking our fingers into the moving fan. You got a little friction burn, but if your finger got caught inside one of the loops, it hurt like He.. because it would wrench the crap out of your finger. Unfortunately, I think it got lost during my Grandmother's last move. I was surprised when I actually found this pic on EBay -
Oddly, of all of the Antique electric table fan with cloth blades I Googled, this was the only picture of the fan she had. ALL of the other pics showed metal (predominately) or plastic blades (a few). -
Might be good for an episode of hoarders.

Okay, I don't mind collecting stuff, but did anyone else notice all of the clocks had different times????? Now that would drive me batshit crazy. Oh, wait, already there.
