How did that copy get past the censors? I am furious.

Rally? Really? We don't rally, we "swarm". You know that. Watch your language. Crew code dictates so.

Cross between a motorcycle and a street buggy? No. And just to be as clear as a sky of the deepest azure, let me repeat myself. No.

Something Batman would drive? That really torques me. I hate that. I am now close to pulling an Otter (odd dude on the dark side) by putting a chainsaw to my body panels.

Other than the bad things, you did good, my friend. I know you miss my company. See you soon, with soon swiftly moving sooner.

    Bye!

  • Or it's for Make a Wish...

Is that the guy who was killed in a hit and run or such a few years ago? If so, he was an odd guy who did awesome things. Hard to make me feel humble, but he did it is spades. Father of 4 kids, and a foster parent to more than I can count, humble is all I can offer. Great guy.

Edit: No, that is not him. The Batman I was thinking of passed tragically in 2015, and had his own batmobile.

But, the sentiment is the same. While I am home drinking wine, others are in overdrive to make the world a better place. Feeling humble.

    :00008359: That's me, but thanks :00008359:

  • What do they consider a fixed roof?

§ 46.2-910. Motorcycle and autocycle operators to wear helmets, etc.; certain sales prohibited; penalty.

    A. Every person operating a motorcycle or autocycle shall wear a face shield, safety glasses or goggles, or have his motorcycle or autocycle equipped with safety glass or a windshield at all times while operating the vehicle, and operators and any passengers thereon shall wear protective helmets. Operators and passengers riding on motorcycles with wheels of eight inches or less in diameter or in three-wheeled motorcycles or autocycles that have nonremovable roofs, windshields, and enclosed bodies shall not be required to wear protective helmets. The windshields, face shields, glasses or goggles, and protective helmets required by this section shall meet or exceed the standards and specifications of the Snell Memorial Foundation, the American National Standards Institute, Inc., or the federal Department of Transportation. Failure to wear a face shield, safety glasses or goggles, or protective helmets shall not constitute negligence per se in any civil proceeding. The provisions of this section requiring the wearing of protective helmets shall not apply to operators of or passengers on motorcycles or autocycles being operated (i) as part of an organized parade authorized by the Department of Transportation or the locality in which the parade is being conducted and escorted, accompanied, or participated in by law-enforcement officers of the jurisdiction wherein the parade is held and (ii) at speeds of no more than 15 miles per hour.

No motorcycle or autocycle operator shall use any face shield, safety glasses, or goggles, or have his motorcycle or autocycle equipped with safety glass or a windshield, unless of a type either (i) approved by the Superintendent prior to July 1, 1996, or (ii) that meets or exceeds the standards and specifications of the Snell Memorial Foundation, the American National Standards Institute, Inc., or the federal Department of Transportation and is marked in accordance with such standards.

    B. It shall be unlawful to sell or offer for sale, for highway use in Virginia, any protective helmet that fails to meet or exceed any standard as provided in the foregoing provisions of this section. Any violation of this subsection is a Class 4 misdemeanor.

  • Okey Dokey gang, we are just a few days away from our event and I can't wait to see the old gang and meet some of our newest members
    Here are a few updates.

1- Friday - Colette and I are happy to have all of you join us at the Flying Pig Ranch - we will be ready to start after 3pm and will star serving grub around 5. The shop is open for wrenching. If you have any projects let us know in advance so we can be prepared. @ericastar76 we have you on the list for your steering wheel. We will also have a fire going in the fire pit for a little warmth should it be needed - any special request post them up her. Remember you guys are family so just ask.

2- Saturday morning we will meet in the hotel parting lot around 9am. We need to enter the bridge from the opposite side. So we will drive out of town and take the bypass over the lake to get on 58 business. Then enter the bridge and stage the Slingshots. looks like if everyone who responded shows up we will be 20 SS strong. You guys are just great!
The Wine festival ends at 5pm. As of today I have not made any specific plans for Saturday evening. Some of you may want to venture out on your own for dinner, however we do have some options and (1) we can set up a ride a restaurant in a neighboring town or (2) we can hit Cowboy Ups for Karaoke, we did this at Booze and Blues and had a blast - Elvis even showed up. We can discuss these and other options during the day.

3- @Designer , @Firefly and I ran the last test run for our Sunday morning ride, special thanks to these boys for putting together a great route. It will start in the hotel parking lot at 10:30 am and end at Berry Hill Resort in South Boston. We have reservations for 30 people at Darby's Tavern. The food is great but service is a little slow, however the waitress is too cute to get mad at. Since most of you will be heading home from here we will help set you in the best direction for your journey. Anyone heading back thru Clarksville we have a nice return route thru some twisty country roads.

I just want to thank you all for your support and I promise we will do everything we can to make sure you have a great time. I think these type of events are the best, small very personal. As long as you all have a good time and show interest in attending other events in our lakeside town, I can work with town officials to help fund enough of the event that we do not have to charge a registration fee.

    You' all travel safe
Call us if you need help with anything. you have all our contact info

  • Hey Mitch, first I'd like to thank you for all the hard work you have put in behind the scenes!! I know a lot goes on to prep for events like this and I really appreciate that. Also, thank you for offering to host us at your abode! Believe me folks, I only saw the Flying Pig Ranch in the middle of the night and it was awesome then... I can't imagine what it will be like with a little sunlight!!

I only have 1... okay 2 requests. If you could get some strippers and 8 balls, I think that'll do it. Oh and the local police to give you their word they won't attempt to ticket us, no matter how fast we are flying, regardless of our altitude.

    Thanks Brother!! ;)

I can handle everything but the police.
Small towns are all the same ticketing out of towners for stupid shit is how they pay the bills.
I had to promise the chief of police that an unnamed grey SS owner would not be taking the Mayor out for high speed joy rides - he knows who he is.

Thanks for the kind words, but it really is an honor to spend time with all you lunatics - imagine I am actually lucky enough to have family that I like!
