Can paint pros or those who have had an estimate done comment on the cost of a paint job . At end of riding season I want to have my sling painted candy red or orange with metal flake like the colors in the pics. any idea on cost
Dreaming of a paint job on the sling

My quote was 5K for flat black. Can't get much simpler than flat black. I can't imagine what something like that might be.

Yes that paint job looks awesome on both. However, I will tell you that that is going to be pretty darn expensive and pretty fragile for the slingshot to use flake buster metallics!
Prep all the pieces, spray epoxy primer, spray candy base coat, spray the flakes with a flake buster gun, spray two coats of clear, let dry, wet sand, more clear, let dry, wet sand, more clear, more sanding. Final clear and then color sand and buff!
Whew.... I get tired just thinking about it!
There are many other options with flakes but give somewhat the same effect but are not as fragile.

Those are bad ass colors. They have muscle looking hot rod writing all over them.

I have see several of @Painter very special paint projects...just awesome, AWESOME,
and for the Slingshot, he probably has done way more than any other individual
in the country. If you near Indiana---he's the man. -

@Painter for that you owe me coffee at SSITS....
I had the first referral with this one. I'll take a beer instead at SSITS

Flat black is a tough one if its done correctly .... You "easier" colors are anything with a gloss and simple colors like red or blue or.......
None of them are easy if they are slick and perfect....
JUST DON'T PAINT IT MATTE WHITE!!!!
LOL one is enough.......And one of the biggest issues with flat or satin finishes is that once it is laid down you can't cut and buff it... When It comes out of the gun it is the way it will dry and look forever.....

Thanks @rabtech. That's what I get for assuming that flat black would be easy just because it was one color with a flat finish. The price point makes more sense now.

Red SL is what I have. I need "yes" need Something to set it apart from all the other slower reds out there. If candy paint is to brittle maybe a nice graphic design will do the trick.
